Whether you’re starting from scratch or updating your existing CV, our free resume template gives you a clean, professional structure that recruiters and applicant tracking systems (ATS) love.
Use this guide to structure your resume effectively and boost your chances of landing an interview.
List only the essentials—and skip anything that could invite bias. It’s not necessary (or legal for employers) to ask for your:

This section should highlight your immediate career goals and how they align with the role. Keep it brief—2 to 3 sentences max—and tailored to the job you’re applying for.
Alternative: If you’re mid- or late-career, consider using a “Career Highlights” section instead of an objective.
List your most recent qualifications first (reverse chronological order).
Again, list roles in reverse chronological order. Focus on your last 10–15 years of experience.
List memberships of industry organisations or relevant volunteer work. These help demonstrate commitment and engagement with your field.
This section should match the skills listed in the job description—without copying them verbatim. Use bullet points and group your skills under “Technical Skills” and “Soft Skills” where applicable.

Include this section if your hobbies or interests are relevant to the role or reflect valuable personal traits. Examples:
You can either list 1–2 referees with full contact details or simply write:
“Referees available upon request.”
