Online Editor –Western Sydney

PoliticsRound.com is seeking an Online Editor to help set its editorial direction and expand its readership. You will have proven experience as an editor in an online environment, excellent judgement on story selection, proven management skills and be decisive and comfortable leading a team. You will be expected write lead stories and opinion pieces on both federal and international politics.

Responsibilities include:

• Formulating editorial policy; planning, coordinating and directing editorial activities
• Managing an editorial team –assigning journalists to stories, establishing production schedules, solving publication problems and discussing makeup plans and organisational changes
• Overseeing lead stories for each issue
• Providing guidance and mentoring to the editorial team
• Managing staffing and budgets, reporting to the managing director
• Writing stories, editorials
