Please accept my application for the position of part-time library customer services officer, as advertised in the Orlando Tribune on 14 July 2009. I am an excellent communicator with staff and clients alike and I believe my library experience and enthusiasm will be an asset to R&R Libraries.

I possess a strong understanding of management, IT equipment and the day-to-day running of a library. In my current position as library client services team leader, I have gained an insight into the different levels of library management. I have been involved in staff recruitment, training, customer service and ensuring the overall running of the library is efficient and enjoyable for clients.

I am dedicated and passionate about customer and community service. Both of my previous jobs have required a high standard of customer service skills. My qualifications and work experience have also provided me with excellent technological skills including proficiency with AMLIB Library Management System.

This year, I will be commencing a Bachelors of Arts degree, majoring in 16th Century English Literature and 18th Century Spanish Poetry. This will be done part time so as I can balance this study with work – my hours are very flexible. I have a strong passion for most genres of literature, and I am fluent in Spanish and German, with a keen interest in works in those languages. I am also interested in both national and international current affairs and read the newspaper daily. I have good general knowledge and like to participate in trivia nights.

I pride myself on my organisational and management abilities and look forward to continuing my career in a customer service role. I hope to discuss my eligibility for the role further with you in the future.
