I am writing to apply for the position of Mine Manager, as advertised recently on SEEK.com.au.

I come from a solid background in iron ore mining and engineering, and am seeking to take my career to the next level with a senior leadership role. I am currently employed as a Senior Mine Engineer with Truforce Ltd, a leader in iron ore exploration.

I believe I hold both the technical skills – including mine planning, scheduling and geotechnical skills – and personal attributes, including strong leadership, communication and determination, necessary for the role. I possess high-level understanding of mining methodologies, operations and contract management.

In my present role, I am responsible for overseeing underground mine design, planning and scheduling mine development, forecasting and budgeting, reviewing targets and performance, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity, supervising mine engineers, overseeing site and equipment safety, and ensuring that operations comply with internal and external policy and legislation.

I hold a Bachelor of Mining and a Western Australian Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s ticket, and have considerable experience using VULCAN and XPAC mine planning software. I also possess a dangerous goods clearance. My colleagues can attest to my exceptional commitment to developing and maintaining safety standards on site.

I believe I am someone who has the right combination of skills and qualities to succeed in this role. I am practical and resourceful, extremely organised and efficient, with a head for operations, and I have the ability to successfully communicate and manage relationships on site. I also have the financial sense and business management skills to be a real asset to Soarock Minerals.
