Steve Sherwood
Publishing Manager
Onetouch Australia
Dear Mr Sherwood
Re: Technical Writer position
I am writing to apply for the position of Technical Writer at Onetouch Australia, as advertised recently on SEEK.com.au.
I am an exceptionally motivated and enthusiastic technical writer with three years of experience in technical documentation and two years of experience as a proofreader and editor. I pride myself on my skill at translating complicated technical information into clear, plain and easy-to-follow English, and am renowned for my eagle eye and attention to detail, as well as my ability to meet deadlines.
In my current role as technical writer for Bausch Appliances, I am responsible for the creation of user manuals and various forms of product and process documentation. I constantly seek ways to improve our written communications and internal processes to drive both efficiency and quality. I am able to juggle multiple projects and work both independently and in a team. An integral part of my role is to liaise and coordinate with the publishing manager, engineers, designers, and manufacturing and retail staff.
I hold a Graduate Certificate of Communication and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies. I am comfortable with doing technical research and following strict style guidelines, and I have a wealth of experience using the entire range of MS Office software, as well as Visio and CAD.
I believe I am well suited to the Technical Writer role and could make a valuable contribution to your team. I have attached my resume and look forward to discussing the position with you further.
Yours sincerely,
