The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) offered by Insight Training is designed for individuals passionate about providing care and support to the elderly. Course Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however it is preferred that students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent.
To work in an aged care or disability environment, you must have a working with vulnerable people check and police clearance and, in some cases, up-to-date vaccinations.
Vaccinations will be based on the work placement’s policies and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements. At minimum, you should be up-to-date with your flu vaccinations; other immunisations that may be required are for Covid-19 and Hepatitis B. If we have sourced work placement for you, we will advise the vaccination requirements.
The requirements around vaccinations and evidence might change while you’re studying with us. Changes will be in line with industry requirements and/or Australian Immunisation Guidelines.
Work Placement Requirements
Students are required to complete at least 120 recorded working hours in an Approved Service, enabling them to perform a variety of relevant work tasks. If students are not currently employed at an appropriate facility, Insight Training staff can assist in finding a suitable work placement.
All necessary resources will be provided to document the tasks completed and track the required placement hours. Additionally, a Trainer/Assessor will conduct a workplace visit to evaluate the skills necessary for this qualification.
