This CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support qualification from Phillips Institute is ideal for individuals seeking a career change, or those looking to upgrade their aged care, health, or community services background and experience.
The Certificate IV in Aged Care is quickly becoming a requirement for all Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) as more employers seek qualified workers to provide services to the elderly with complex needs. This qualification allows you to provide basic nursing care and other daily living activities to individuals with complex needs. Additionally, you will gain the necessary skills to train and support other workers and residents to promote independence and community participation. You will also learn delegation and supervision techniques for other workers, such as Certificate III workers, and care planning and documentation to improve the quality of care provided to the elderly.
The course can be delivered via a combination of classroom workshops, Zoom classes, blended online learning, and lab skill days to deliver essential theory, skills, and knowledge. There are also practical training opportunities for you to develop your skills on the job, including placement in an aged care facility under supervision for a specified period of time. If you are already an active participant or currently employed in the residential aged care industry, your expertise will be recognised and you may be provided with the appropriate accreditation.
