How Much Will It Cost?

Eligible students can apply for the Australian government's FEE-HELP loan to cover the upfront costs of all or part of your fees.

James Cook University also offers an upfront payment option.

You may be eligible to receive FEE-HELP for this course!

This course can be paid for through the FEE-HELP government loan scheme. If you are an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa, you may not need to pay upfront.

Instead, the Australian government will pay your course fees directly to the provider on your behalf. You’ll begin repaying your loan through the tax system once you start earning more than the minimum threshold of $54,435 (2024-25 financial year).

Students choose one of three majors: Leadership and Management, Education or Advanced Practice. Leadership and Management students will delve into the methods, practices and ethics of health leadership, management and communication. Education majors examine principles of education for health professionals, learning about clinical coaching and teaching in practice settings. Advanced Practice students will further develop the skills needed to deliver advanced patient care. JCU offers subjects from Ethics and Health Management to Clinical Coaching, so you can focus on areas that will help put you on your best career path. Delivered 100% online, this course gives students the flexibility to study and improve their future career prospects while continuing to work as Registered Nurses.

Eligibility

To be eligible to study this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:

Completed an AQF Level 7 Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent qualification, and;
Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent registration with the relevant registering authority for applicants outside of Australia;
Completed a minimum of one year of full-time clinical experience, or the part-time equivalent, as a Registered Nurse.
Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3a – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.
