The HLT51020 Diploma of Emergency Health Care, offered by the Australian Paramedical College, is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge required for a career in pre-hospital healthcare. This comprehensive course covers a range of critical areas, including patient assessment, advanced life support, and effective communication in complex situations. Students will engage in a blend of online learning, intensive clinical workshops, and hands-on clinical placements, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver exceptional care in emergency scenarios.

Throughout the 24-month program, participants will learn to manage emergency scenes, confirm patients’ physical health, and transport individuals safely in both non-emergency and major incident contexts. The course is structured to accommodate various lifestyles, allowing students to study at their own pace while gaining practical experience through workshops and placements across Australia. Graduates will emerge with the confidence and competence needed to pursue roles as Advanced Life Support Medics or to further their education towards becoming registered paramedics.

This course is delivered online and includes two 5-day clinical workshops at either the APC HQ in Burleigh Heads, Queensland, or in APC dedicated training locations in Hurstville NSW, North Lake WA, or Noble Park North VIC.

160 hours of clinical work placement is also required.
